This privacy policy informs you about the type, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data within our website rigi-info.ch.
Access Data / Server Log Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us.

This data cannot be assigned to specific persons. This data is not merged with other data sources.
Firebase and Third Parties
Our website and the connected backend use Google Firebase (Firebase Hosting, Cloud Functions, Firestore) to provide content. Technical data, in particular IP addresses, can be processed. Data processing is carried out in accordance with the data protection regulations of Google LLC. For sending the newsletter we additionally use Amazon Web Services (see the Newsletter section).
Cookies
This website does not use cookies. No information is stored on your device – neither through cookies nor through other storage techniques such as localStorage or sessionStorage. Usage statistics (see below) are collected entirely server-side and require no storage in your browser.
Location Data
The “Toilet Map” and “Toilet Compass” pages request access to your device’s location via the browser when the page is opened. The location is used exclusively within your browser – on the map to show your position, and in the compass to sort results by distance. Your coordinates are never transmitted to our servers. If you deny permission, both pages continue to work, but without location-based features.
Newsletter
You can subscribe on rigi-info.ch to a weekly newsletter, which is sent every Thursday evening. For this we store your email address, the language you have chosen, and the time of signup and confirmation. The signup only takes effect once you click the confirmation link in the first email (double opt-in). Unconfirmed signups are automatically deleted after seven days.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Swiss FADP). You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link at the end of every email. After unsubscribing, your data is fully deleted within 30 days.
For sending we use Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES) in the Frankfurt region (EU). Replies and feedback go to a mailbox at Infomaniak (Switzerland). The newsletter contains no open or click tracking and no personalised links. Links in the emails carry only a general marker so that we can see in the usage statistics how many visits in total came from the newsletter.
Your Rights (Information, Deletion)
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions (in particular the Swiss Data Protection Act, FADP/nFADP), you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing as well as a right to correction or deletion of this data. For this purpose, you can contact us at any time at the address given in the imprint.
Usage Statistics
This website collects anonymised usage statistics to understand which content is relevant to you and other visitors, and to continuously improve what we offer.
We use the same measurement for the Rigi image archive (archiv.rigi-info.ch) as well.
The measurement takes place without cookies, without local storage in your browser, and without cross-device identification. When you open a page, your browser sends a small data point to our server: the path visited, the approximate origin (for internal navigation the previous path, for external sources only the domain name without search terms), the language of the page, and a coarse device classification (mobile, tablet or desktop) and browser type.
Your IP address is not stored. It is used only to produce anonymous, daily-rotating usage statistics.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).
You can disable this measurement at any time by enabling the “Global Privacy Control” (GPC) setting in your browser. The system checks this signal and sends no data in that case.
Data is stored in Google Cloud (region: Zurich) and is not shared with third parties or used for advertising purposes.
