Firebase and Third Parties
Our website and the connected backend use Google Firebase (Firebase Hosting, Cloud Functions, Firestore) to provide content. Technical data, in particular IP addresses, can be processed. Data processing is carried out in accordance with the data protection regulations of Google LLC.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies. No information is stored on your device – neither through cookies nor through other storage techniques such as localStorage or sessionStorage. Usage statistics (see below) are collected entirely server-side and require no storage in your browser.
Location Data
The “Toilet Map” and “Toilet Compass” pages request access to your device’s location via the browser when the page is opened. The location is used exclusively within your browser – on the map to show your position, and in the compass to sort results by distance. Your coordinates are never transmitted to our servers. If you deny permission, both pages continue to work, but without location-based features.
Your Rights (Information, Deletion)
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions (in particular the Swiss Data Protection Act, FADP/nFADP), you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing as well as a right to correction or deletion of this data. Usage Statistics
This website collects anonymised usage statistics to understand which content is relevant to you and other visitors, and to continuously improve what we offer.
The measurement takes place without cookies, without local storage in your browser, and without cross-device identification. When you open a page, your browser sends a small data point to our server: the path visited, the approximate origin (for internal navigation the previous path, for external sources only the domain name without search terms), the language of the page, and a coarse device classification (mobile, tablet or desktop) and browser type.
Your IP address is never stored. It is used solely to compute a daily anonymous hash value, which is then immediately discarded. This hash value is invalidated daily at 04:00 (salt rotation), so visits across different days cannot be linked to one another. Precise timestamps are automatically deleted after seven days.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).
You can disable this measurement at any time by enabling the “Global Privacy Control” (GPC) setting in your browser. The system checks this signal and sends no data in that case.
Data is stored in Google Cloud (region: Zurich) and is not shared with third parties or used for advertising purposes.
