The ProSpecieRara demonstration garden near the rock chapel in Rigi Kaltbad is an extreme location: The high cliffs cast long shadows, so snow often lingers here even in May, and the sun rarely reaches the ground. This climate, however, is perfectly suited to the various alpine plant species and varieties that ProSpecieRara has collected, and so a wide range of houseleeks, bitterroots, astilbes, primroses, gentians, saxifrages, carnations, and more thrive here.
