The traditional Sennenchilbi Weggis, a festival held every five years, is preparing for its edition from November 13th to 17th, 2026. This five-day event combines customs, music, and conviviality and is a cultural highlight in Weggis. Anticipation for the festival builds months in advance, especially around Mount Rigi. A first visible sign of the upcoming Sennenchilbi is a specially crafted wooden bench, erected by the dairy cooperative in the village square of Rigi Kaltbad. This bench, also known as the "Muniseckel," is intended to get locals and visitors in the mood for the festival and invite them to linger. It will remain in Rigi Kaltbad until mid-November to draw attention to the upcoming event. The highlight of the Sennenchilbi is traditionally the grand parade on Sunday.
