A special art exhibition entitled "Ode to the Nagelfluh" will take place on Mount Rigi from September 5th to 27th, 2026. At the Bergwerk studio in Rigi Kaltbad, artists will explore the characteristic Nagelfluh rock, which shapes the mountain's appearance and gives it its name. The aim is to rediscover the geological foundations of the Rigi and bring this seemingly inconspicuous rock into sharp focus. The participating artists will work and experiment on-site, developing their perspectives in an open dialogue between geology, material, and perception. Visitors can look forward to watercolors, objects, and installations created in this inspiring environment. The opening reception is scheduled for September 5th at 5:00 pm, and the exhibition will then be open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, until September 27th. This initiative offers a unique opportunity to experience the Rigi and its geological history anew through the lens of art.
