A fascinating art project entitled "Ode to the Nagelfluh" will take place in September 2026 at the Rigi Mine and in the tunnel on the lower Firstweg. It focuses on the characteristic rock type that shapes the appearance of the Rigi mountain, exploring it through a variety of artistic interpretations. From September 5th to 27th, open studios, exhibitions, and installations in the Rigi Mine and the tunnel on the lower Firstweg will offer new perspectives on geology, landscape, and perception.
Six participating artists will present their works and invite visitors to lectures, guided tours, and readings. Highlights include geological and botanical tours of the Rigi, lectures on Nagelfluh, and a vernissage featuring specially brewed Nagelfluh beer. Visitors can look forward to a diverse program that combines art, nature, and science. The Rigi Mine is easily accessible via the Rigi Railway from Rigi Kaltbad.
