The Canton of Lucerne and the municipality of Vitznau are inviting visitors to an exciting construction site tour at the Altdorfbach on 17 October 2026. During guided tours, interested parties will gain an exclusive insight into the construction of the new sediment collector, which is essential for flood protection in the region. Experts will provide information at seven stations regarding the project, safety precautions and the challenges involved in the construction work. The tours will take place every half-hour between 10 am and 2 pm, and sturdy footwear as well as weatherproof clothing are required. A complimentary catering service will be provided to keep visitors well-fed. Travelling by public transport is recommended, as parking spaces are available only in limited numbers. The event will only take place in suitable weather conditions to ensure the safety of visitors at all times.
