Beat Frei, owner of the event chalet in Teufenthal, has acquired a decommissioned rail carriage from Rigi Bahnen to expand his offering. This historic carriage will soon provide a unique venue for aperitifs as well as fondue and raclette evenings. Weighing 7.5 tonnes, the carriage will be transported from the depot in Arth-Goldau to the Wynental valley on 1 October. Beat Frei will then spend around a month converting and adapting it for its new purpose.
The aim is to put the Rigi rail carriage into operation in time for the upcoming autumn and winter season, primarily to enrich corporate events. This idea fits in with Frei's creative projects designed to make his chalet in Teufenthal attractive. Although Beat Frei himself had no direct connection to Rigi, his concept convinced Rigi Bahnen AG to let him have one of the coveted carriages. The transport and installation of the historic Rigi carriage are proving to be more expensive than the carriage itself.
