A nighttime parking ban for motorhomes and caravans has been in effect on Seebodenalp, a popular destination near Mount Rigi, since August 1, 2026. The Berg und Seeboden Corporation felt compelled to implement this measure due to the steadily increasing number of overnight campers. This led to growing problems with waste, hygiene, and traffic on the mountain. The ban is in effect daily from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and is already signposted at the Heckersbrücke bridge. The corporation points out that legal action will be taken against any violations to ensure order and cleanliness in this Rigi region.
